Things are getting more and more interesting. It’s fun.
The Rocketship Jobs database is growing. We now have over 50 companies on the list.
In today's email, I added three new companies. I am also going to continue to make the database better by adding more context to why I picked companies, culture reviews, and employee count.
Is there anything else you think should be on the database?
Let me know, click the button below to check it out and keep me posted on your thoughts.
What’s Going on Outside..
I am working on making an email template catalog for premium but I have something special for everyone.
First, read this tweet by Sahil Lavingia. He was the second employee at Pinterest.
Next, check out this post (thanks for sending it to me Daniel) from Morning Brew.
That is how you send a cold email. That is the way to get a job.
Stop going through the normal application process, it works but rarely.
Potential Rockets…
Today, I am going to add three companies to the list of Rocketships.
UserGuiding offers a simple way to design product walkthroughs in minutes with a user-friendly no coding solution.
I like UserGuiding for the same reason I like other companies like Webflow, Retool, etc. I believe no-code is going to have a profound effect on the future. This is just another example.
UserGuiding is hiring. Their website doesn’t say what positions but their founders LinkedIn pages say they are. I would reach out directly. Their information is in the DB.
PrizePool is a Savings Account that offers rewards instead of interest.
I find PrizePool interesting. It’s looking to change the way people think about saving.
Today saving is looked at as a nice to have. People that can afford to do and people that can’t don’t. The interesting thing is people that don’t save tend to gamble on things like lottery tickets. PrizePool seems to be going after that market.
They created a lotto savings account. Essentially, every dollar someone puts into their account as savings acts as a ticket that enters them into a chance to win up to $25k.
PrizePool isn’t big today but I like the swing that they’re taking. They just raised $4.3M but are only 5 people at the company today. Execution will be hard but the growth could be interesting if they go to market right.
There are no current openings listed on PrizePool’s website. That said, they just raised a ton of money. I would reach out to the CEO and see how you could help. I imagine they will have openings in marketing, product, engineering, and operations at the very least.
Check the DB here for the CEO’s information.
I saw this tweet and immediately got excited. I am a believer that successful founders are typically a good bet. Ben is just that. He founded Meerkat, pivoted that to create Houseparty, and recently sold the company to Epic Games. SlashTalk is far from a Rocketship company today but I am adding it to the database to keep track of its growth.
If you are interested in joining a successful founder and learning a lot about growing a fast-growing company, I would definitely reach out to Ben.
Update to the Rockets
This tweet thread by the CEO of Farmstead was great. I have been a little worried about them as a company but this shows they have been keeping up the great work. They are growing!
They are hiring for positions in Customer Happiness, Merchandising, Operations, Product, and Engineering. These positions are in Charlotte, NC, Burlingame, NC, San Francisco, CA, or Remote.
You can get the CEO's information here.
Ok, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed today's issue of Rocketship Jobs.
