Today's job is from
Webflow is the way to design, build, and launch powerful websites visually — without coding.
Started in 2012 by Vlad Magdalin, Bryant Chou and Sergie Magdalin.
They raised a total of $74.9M. Their most recent funding amount was $72M Series A led by Accel.
They have 186 employees as of June 2020.
Webflow is a part of an industry called No Code. Really it’s a movement. It was estimated in 2016 that less than a half of a percent of the world's population knows how to code. This means less than half of the world's population can build apps, websites, games etc. No Code is changing that by making building website and apps a visual process instead of a code oriented process. Webflow is a leader of this industry.
Webflow was founded in 2012. The founder Vlad was able to sustain this business for six years with VERY minimal investment and now has been able to garner $72M in investment. This speaks volumes to his belief and sticktoitiveness.
The Webflow leadership is very passionate about diversity. In the early stages of companies you don't tend to see a focus on diverstiy but I believe it will help them in the long run. It will enable better recruiting and more creativity around the product in the long run.
In 2017 Webflow did $10M in revenue. In 2019, it was predicted they would do $20M. They also had 47,000 customers in 2019.
In 2020 their growth has increased due to COVID. Below is a tweet from one of their investors describing their growth. Assuming they adding $400k in MRR in April 2019, that would mean they added $1.2M in MRR in April of 2020. If their growth for all of 2020 is similar to April their ARR by the end of the year will be approaching $40M. This is about 100% year over year growth and would lead me to believe they may raise another round of funding early in 2021.
